Deceiver’s Moon

I want to wrap you in my deceit.
Lay down with you surrounded by my lies
Naked beneath these sheets.
Torture you with my tongue,
Whisper sweet nothings
As I take my pleasure;
To the lingering lyrics of lust,
The fickle words of my song.

The Song of Sorrows

The sorrow is like the rain,
That seeps into my soul.
I cannot escape its reach,
How it creeps like a cancer
Into every part of my being.
Its waters never washing me clean
But rather they numb me of feeling.
Soaking me with the amnesia of the dream,
With a meaning that disappears when I awaken.
So that what is happenstance, I view as concrete proof
That there’s only a gap where my heart should be beating.

Forgive me for my dreams but I
cannot stop believing in you.
Even though time passes and my
hopes whither. Yet, like the
inevitability of the
winter winds that make me shiver.
You cause me to feel like a thief
in the night, searching for a jewel
That doesn’t exist. Only to
find myself a prisoner of
this strange belief. Yet still, I find
When I close my eyes, I dream of you.

I Am Legion

Hush
Is the sound
I am longing to hear.
A quantity of silence,
To hold back the roar of the flood,
A moment of reflection
Before the dam breaks.

Hush
Is the sound
I am longing to hear.
When all that exists
Is the rush of blood in the vein,
The howl of the winds
And the bitter irony of the rain.

Hush
Is the sound
I am longing to hear.
A chance to shut out the dark,
A reason to give up the fight.
To extinguish the flame,
To close my eyes to the sight.

Hush
Is the sound
I am longing to hear.
But I fill up the moments
With a cacophony of voices.
To drown out the thoughts
That fill me with dread.

The Capture

You’ve put your mark on me,
Branded my mortal soul with your kiss.
Then left me stranded, alone,
Only dreaming to sustain me –
Wishing for one more kiss.

Diagnosis III

Hello shadows, my old friends,
You find me down on my knees once again.
Praying to be forgiven,
Praying to remain unseen.
To be forgotten,

Fractured but somehow not broken.
Like a passenger, alone, in an otherwise empty railway carriage
To the observer by the side of the track, I will not seem real.
But just a dissected jumble of body parts flying –
Eye, arm, tear upon a cheek, passing by.

Less than human, I hope to appear
To the disease waiting outside for me.
Nothing but shadows and light
To the watcher beside the track.
Nothing in the scheme of things, nothing to infinity.

Diagnosis II

The Sword of Damocles
Hovering over me.
A companion of mine
As I journey through the trees
On this midnight road.

The axe, sharpened,
Glints in the moonlight,
Glimmers as cold as a scythe.
Cradled like a babe in the embrace of the executioner
Who waits at the end of the night.

Diagnosis I

Waiting for the diagnosis,

Waiting for the hammer to fall.

Anticipating the darkness,

Communicating with the shadow

Meeting him at the door.
