Starlight Rending

For the 9 November there is a poem about how small this universe makes me feel sometimes…

This beauty is torn apart
By chaos winds
And bitter rains.
By the harshness of the times,
By the frigid coldness of black nights.
The stars who shine,
Jealously guard those distant lights.
Never sharing of the warmth
Of their distant, alien, hearts.

Moonwalkers

For the 4 November we have a poem about night time adventures. But not that kind of night time adventure!

Night-time escapade,
Adventure by moonlight.
Exploring the darkness,
Shouting out for joy
Like a screech owl
When I go moonwalking with you.

Nocturnal treasure hunt
In search of delights,
A cavalcade of madness
Dashing wildly, dancing
Like cavorting March Hares
On a moonwalk with you.

Night in Shining Armour

The night in shining armour
Rediscovers my moonlit memories.
How the mighty are humbled
When uncovered by the moonbeams.
Treasure of my beating heart
A taste of your honey lips,

The forgetting that happens
When we’re together.
The wasted hours
When we’re apart

And I long for wine and song again.
Safe, with you in my arms.
Sí, mi amor. Sí, mi amor.

Shadow of a Girl

There was a girl
Between the earth and the sky,
Shadow of a girl
Like a bird she did fly.

There was a girl
I spied between moon and sun,
But when I looked again
That girl had gone.

There was a girl
I saw across the lake,
But when I reached out for her
From the dream I did wake.

South Bank

Here is something short and sweet, an ode to London for Day 12 …

Shining portals, pools of light
Let loose upon the night.
Kaleidoscope of colours
Hand-in-hand with lovers,
Breathing-in the city bright.

Wish Upon

Sky searching, scanning the horizons of night
For a glowing ember of yesterday
To pin my hopes upon.
While the darkness is wrapped about me
Like a blanket, for the unbroken hours until the dawn.

The Starlight

Silvery stain painted over the night sky,
A river full of light in the far distance
Journeyed across the universe as time passes by.
It glories in the moon’s absence
On this dark night, shining in my eyes.

The streets are sorry now,
Bleeding colours in the night.
Streetlights and cobbled paths,
Laughter and footstep heartbeats,
Fading as the city weeps.
