Wind Chills

The sun shines down,
Crowning the ice upon the pond
With a transient halo.

Shimmers of translucence
Shiver in the frigid air,
Whisper of nothing.

Revenger Spirit

The North Wind stings with the bitterness of Winter’s ire.
This Arctic force is aligned against its foe,
The pretender in green and gold. That sought
To wrest the White Queen’s stranglehold,
Her rightful supremacy. For she wishes
That the forces of colour and of life
Should kneel and tremble at her feet.
She demands that all is living should wither,
Turn to dust, and beneath her ice sheet forever shiver.

January is cold; barren season
That life has left a hollow shell.
Only decay can keep a death beat
Where once hearts in rhythm called ‘All’s well!’
Now chaos grows in frozen darkness
Ice warriors of this living hell.
