Dreams

If I dream of you sometimes I hope you will forgive me. I hope you understand that I just need to see your face sometimes. For a glimpse of someone whose hair falls down upon their shoulders in that hauntingly familiar way, is not enough to sustain me. For all the colours are a hundred shades of wrong and beauty means nothing, when only your face has any meaning for me. For I can walk through a flower garden when the roses are in bloom and it feels as barren as a desert if the scent of your perfume is not the air I breathe. So if from time to time I dream of you, I hope you understand, I hope you will forgive me.

I See Dead People

I see ghosts out of the corner of my eye.
Shadows of the past, phantoms long gone,
Haunting me. Sleeping and waking, the dreamers
Creep through the tall grass. Circling my sanity.
Searching for the weaknesses in my reality.

Haunted

Haunted by the silence,
The darkness,
The shadows on the wall.

Hunted by the moon
That follows me
Wherever I go.

After You Have Gone

Your heady perfume haunts me
That scent of you in the air.
Dizzying sensations that linger
Like the silhouette of a body
Just sketched on the pillow
When nobody is there.

I caught a glimpse of your shadow
A fleeting glimpse, just a hint
That you were there
Before it was gone.

Haunting Season

I’m lost
To the four winds,
Scattered ashes,
Windblown leaves on an autumn breeze.
Longing to be a memory that makes it
Through the darkness of this dying season
That’s forever haunting me.
