All Together

Stripped of everything but my soul,
Naked, nothing left to identify my mortal remains
But the record of my conduct here on earth.
All accoutrements of wealth, all holy symbols of my false religions,
All gone now.
All shields, all swords, I’ll have no more protections.
No magic spells are left to save me
Just an account of my actions
Where they weigh a feather against my sins.

The Waterline

Holed beneath the waterline
Again, the tide is rushing in.
The end is staring back at me
In its funeral suit,
Wearing that black cap. Judging me
Guilty of everything.
Too many sins
For all the waters in the world
To be enough
To ever wash me clean again.

Shortest Day

The golden orb hangs low but does not dispel the gloom

That cloud my senses. Of a world spinning wildly beyond the borders of my room.

This cellular existence, the prison bars are of my own making,

Trapping me within a gravity, making me blind to the chances I could be taking.

Infamy

I heard the news today…

But I will not let myself be destroyed.

I will not let this confusion

Set the pieces tumbling

Or pull myself apart

As they torture me.

I will not allow them the satisfaction

Of even this hollowest

Of hollow victories.

The record will not show

A trace of this action;

Their names only…

So much delusion, a forgotten history.
